DIY’ing your Renovation? DON’T DIY your Design!

Take the Stress Out of Your Kitchen or Bathroom Remodel

Starting a kitchen or bathroom remodel can feel overwhelming. You might begin by visiting showrooms, home shows, or browsing Pinterest. Suddenly, you’re facing hundreds—maybe thousands—of options for cabinets, tile, flooring, and fixtures.

Sales reps at different stores may give conflicting advice, or focus more on commissions than on what’s best for your home. Decision fatigue sets in, disagreements with family members arise, and the project you were excited about now feels stressful and confusing.

How Jessica Hein Interiors Simplifies the Process

I take the stress out of your remodel by creating a custom design plan tailored to your style, home, and lifestyle. Think of it like hiring a personal shopper for your home:

  • I guide you through all the details, including cabinet layouts, tile design, lighting, and fixtures.

  • I handle the legwork of selecting materials that perfectly reflect your style.

  • Thoughtfully selected material samples and options are brought directly to your home so you can see and feel them in your space.

The result? A confident, cohesive design plan that you can either execute on your own or hand directly to your contractor. If you’d like, I can also manage the execution to ensure your remodel is completed flawlessly.

Our Process: From Concept to Completion

  1. Layout Concepts
Remodeling can feel overwhelming because it’s hard to visualize all the possibilities. We start with basic concept drawings to explore different layouts for your space, such as peninsula arrangements or appliance placement. This helps narrow down the best solution for your home.

  2. Design Refinement
Once we select a layout, I create detailed plans, incorporating cabinetry, countertops, tile, lighting, and other finishes.

  3. Material Selection
We choose materials with intention, balancing aesthetics and functionality while keeping your home’s architecture in mind.

  4. Final Design Plan
At the end, you’ll have a complete, cohesive design plan that can be confidently built or executed by a contractor—or with my guidance for a seamless remodel.

Refining the Layout for Your Family’s Needs

Once we explore layout options, the next step is selecting the layout that works best for how you and your family use the space. This phase focuses on creating a detailed kitchen or bathroom design that is both functional and beautiful.

Key aspects of this phase include:

  • Functional Cabinet Design – Your specific needs are considered so that cabinetry works efficiently for daily use.

  • Design Revisions and Tweaks – We refine the layout until every detail supports your lifestyle.

  • 3D Views and Detailed Plans – You’ll receive 3D renderings, floorplans, and elevations to visualize the finished space.

At the end of this phase, you’ll have a thoughtfully designed space that’s ready to take to retailers or your contractor for pricing. If you prefer, we can continue into the materials and selections phase, where we choose finishes, fixtures, and details to complete your vision.

Bringing Your Style and Personality Into the Design

Once the layout is finalized, the exciting part begins—bringing your personality and style into the space!

  • Exploring Design Schemes: We typically start with one or two design scheme options. Once a scheme is chosen, I refine every detail of the design to ensure it reflects your taste and lifestyle.

  • In-Home Design Presentation: I bring the design presentation and all material samples to your home so you can see how colors, textures, and finishes interact in your actual space.

  • Refinements and Revisions: We collaborate on any final adjustments until the space feels cohesive, functional, and uniquely yours.

At the end of this phase:

  • If you’re comfortable executing the design, you’ll receive a comprehensive design packet with everything you need to order materials and bring the space to life.

  • If you prefer professional guidance, we move into the implementation phase, where your new design is executed seamlessly.

Bringing Your Design to Life: Implementation and Oversight

Once the design is complete, it’s time to turn your vision into reality. This phase focuses on coordination, procurement, and execution so you can enjoy a stress-free remodel.

  • Contractor Coordination: I work with your contractor—or one I recommend—to procure estimates for the full scope of work.

  • Material Procurement and Scheduling: After approvals, I handle ordering all materials and scheduling each step of the project, ensuring everything is in place when needed.

  • Project Oversight: During installation, I oversee the execution, providing weekly updates so you always know how your remodel is progressing.

By managing every detail, I ensure that your remodel is smooth, efficient, and aligns perfectly with the approved design, so you can enjoy the process without the stress of coordinating multiple vendors or decisions.

A Design Plan You Can Be Excited About

No matter the level of service you choose, you can be confident that when our work together is complete, you will have a comprehensive, thoughtfully crafted design plan—one that you’ll be excited to see come to life in your home.
