Stripping away the non-original '80s updates allowed us to reintroduce materials that age beautifully and feel grounded in history. Old Minneapolis homes are packed with character, but they rarely come equipped with the spacious, functional bathrooms that modern living demands. In this bathroom renovation, we tackled a classic old-home dilemma: a tight, cramped bathroom tucked under a sloped ceiling, right next to an underutilized, awkward hallway.

When I first entered the Kennedy Residence, the home had incredible structure. The space had gorgeous vaulted ceilings, but visually, the kitchen felt like it was from a different decade. It was dominated by honey oak cabinetry, basic white laminate countertops, and dated, shiny brass fixtures that just didn’t do the clients' room justice.
