Bright, Modern and Open - Eden Prairie MN Kitchen Remodel

Stunning Kitchen and Laundry Remodel in Eden Prairie, MN

This Eden Prairie remodel with Iron River Construction was a fun and challenging project that required thoughtful planning and creative solutions.

Overcoming Design Challenges

The home presented several unique challenges:

  1. Layout Issues: The original tiny galley kitchen sat awkwardly between the living room and dining area.

  2. Laundry Room Placement: Tucked into a corner by the dining room, the laundry space was cramped and non-functional.

  3. Unique Heating and Cooling System: The home uses concrete brick walls for thermal regulation. A concrete half wall in front of full-length windows limited placement options for the stove.

Creating an Open, Functional Space

Our design approach honored the home’s architecture while maximizing functionality and flow:

  • Removed unnecessary walls to open up the kitchen, dining, and living areas.

  • Designed a bright, open layout with a large island, ample storage, and generous countertop space.

  • Turned the concrete wall into a focal point by adding a range and stainless-steel hood.

  • Featured a waterfall countertop on the island as a stunning centerpiece.

Clever Laundry Room Solutions

The laundry room posed a unique challenge: accessibility and usability. Our solution:

  • Relocated the washer and dryer to optimize space

  • Added cabinetry and countertop surfaces

  • Concealed the laundry entrance within a wall of cabinetry for a seamless look

Final Touches

To tie the remodel together, we redid the fireplace and built-ins to complement the new kitchen design. The result is a functional, bright, and cohesive space perfect for gatherings and everyday living.
