Classic and Pretty - A Wayzata MN Primary Suite Sanctuary

The original bathroom in this Wayzata home was a great example of poor design. The bathroom lacked storage and good space planning. You entered through an awkwardly placed hallway and the first thing you saw as you entered the room was a toilet and a small dark shower. Then once you were in the room you felt cramped due to the lack of countertop space and a tub that took up too much space in the room.

We started by rethinking the layout. Removing the unused bathtub gave way to a more spacious vanity, linen cabinet storage and a bright beautiful shower.

With the new layout of the bathroom, we were able to make what was a weird hallway and small reach in closet into a more spacious, more functional closet layout that was optimized with a closet organization system.

Here is the Floorplan Before… Here is the Floorplan After…

Next it was time to bring this bathroom to life and create the bathroom sanctuary that my client had been dreaming of. We started by exploring 2 different design concepts. She was really drawn to a classic design style with blues and warm neutrals. Ultimately, we decided on a more neutral space that would bring in interesting textures and patterns with tile and gold accents.

Design Concept 1… Design Concept 2…

Final Design Concept…

With the design concept now set, it was time to take a look at the beautiful materials that would bring this space to life.

The details of this bathroom renovation were coming together and to ensure a smooth and seamless execution of the design plan, all of the details were documented in an easy-to-follow design packet with spec sheets included (not shown) that detail every material and finish.

The Reveal…

A stunningly beautiful bathroom that is classic and pretty and that has become a sanctuary for this delighted homeowner.
